Her passion is for integrating wildlife health and conservation and developing collaborative partnerships. For the past ten years, she has specialised in sea turtles and served as a clinical and research sea turtle veterinary consultant to the Western Australian, Queensland and New South Wales Governments. Her PhD dissertation was titled “Health and Disease Status of Sea Turtles in Western Australia” which established health and disease baselines for sea turtles in WA. She developed the first blood reference intervals for flatback turtles and investigated causes of stranding of sea turtles using detailed vet necropsy, histopathology, parasitology and ancillary diagnostics. Throughout this research she also identified novel diseases in sea turtles.
