Dr Karina Jones is an academic at Murdoch University who is interested in marine turtle health, with special emphasis on fibropapillomatosis in marine turtles. This tumour-forming disease (pictured) is the main focus of her research, and she serves on an IUCN Fibropapillomatosis Task Force aimed at better understanding this globally distributed disease. Beyond this disease, she also has an interest in marine turtle genetics and how this can be combined with health data to inform management decisions. Karina is an experienced marine turtle researcher who has been working with these animals since 2012.
